Sun Salutation E-Book "Surya Namaskar Sadhana"

A Comprehensive guide on Traditional Sun Salutations

Surya Namaskar Sadhana e-Book

Available on Kindle

I can scarcely believe myself when I say that I am a Yoga Teacher today…I remember practicing Surya Namaskar for the first time under my Mother’s guidance in the midst of a midlife identity crisis – even doing half a round was a challange. However, that uncomfortable experience started a chain of events which took me to Rishikesh (February 2020). It was here, in the foothills of the Himalayas where I started the study of Yoga by enrolling into a 200 hour yoga TTC (Teacher Training Course). However before the course could be over, the coronavirus pandemic struck, the whole world sort of slowed down and suddenly I found myself locked in from the world in a Yoga School of Rishikesh. Turns out it was one of the luckiest thing that happened to me and I ended up staying in Rishikesh for the next two years. It was in this time that I had the chance to meet some highly evolved people and lucky enough to get their guidance (as much as my thick stubborn skull could accept).

Over the years I have been practicing Surya Namaskar on a daily basis and to this day I learn something with each practice. The traditional Surya Namaskar has become more than a warm up schedule for me and the application of bandhas, mudra, kumbhaka, mantras and chakras have automatically come into the practice. Since I couldn’t find this information very clearly mentioned in the texts I have taken the opportunity to share my practice sequence here in the form of a Sun Salutation e-Book. I hope this will motivate some of you to pick up and deepen the practice of Surya Namaskar.
